Poster · Banksy - Butterfly Girl

Butterfly Girl is one of the most widely shared and most discussed stencil motifs in street art. The black silhouette of a girl holds a gun to her head. Where her head should be, a red splash bursts forth and turns into a rising swarm of butterflies in mid-air. The shattering contrast between violence and fragility, black and red, heaviness and lightness is deliberately unsettling. It invites us to reflect on invisible inner struggles and on how silent they often remain.

For everyone who stood in front of this work for a long time in our exhibition, a trace of an encounter that stays with you. A motif that shows that street art doesn't only make us laugh, it can also shake us.

Fits into the living room, studio or collection of art lovers who want to live with strong, thought-provoking images.
