Poster · Banksy - Christ with Shopping Bags
We will send you a notification as soon as this product is available again.
Banksy showed Christ with Shopping Bags in 2004 at his London exhibition Santa's Ghetto as a comment on the commercialisation of Christmas. The crucified figure of Christ holds shopping bags full of presents in both hands. By superimposing sacred iconography and an everyday shopping scene, Banksy shows with sharp, uncomfortable clarity how much the meaning of the holidays is swallowed up by consumption.
A reminder for everyone who looked twice at this work in our exhibition. And for everyone else, a bold way to bring Banksy's critique of consumer culture home.
Sparks conversation in the study, the library or the creative office. An ironic choice for anyone looking for an unusual gift, especially at Christmas time!
