Magnet · Banksy - CND Soldiers

CND Soldiers is one of Banksy's anti-war works and appeared in London in 2005. It shows two fully equipped soldiers: one keeps watch while the other paints a large peace sign (CND) on the wall in red paint. That the very representatives of war are secretly spraying a symbol of peace turns Banksy's typical play with reversals into a strong political message. The bright red sign next to the black figures forms the heart of the composition. The soldiers' posture, which makes them look like sprayers caught in the act, gives the work both wit and an unsettling note.

A small reminder with a message of peace in the kitchen, for everyone who stood in front of these soldiers at the exhibition.

For the fridge, the office pinboard or as a gift for peace activists and campaigners.
