Magnet · Banksy - Butterfly Girl

Butterfly Girl is one of the most shared and most discussed stencil motifs in street art. A black silhouette of a girl holds a pistol to her head; where her head should be, a red splash bursts forth and turns in the air into a rising swarm of butterflies. The shocking contrast between violence and fragility, black and red, heaviness and lightness is deliberately disturbing. The small, dark figure at the bottom left and the red butterflies opening toward the top right create a strong movement that leads the eye upward. The work invites us to reflect on invisible inner struggles and on how silent they often remain.

A trace of a powerful encounter for everyone who stood in front of this work for a long time at the exhibition.

For the collection of art lovers who appreciate thought-provoking images.
