Stone Magnet · Banksy - Butterfly Girl

Butterfly Girl is one of the most widely shared and most discussed stencil motifs in street art. The black silhouette of a girl holds a gun to her head; where her head should be, a red splash bursts forth and turns into a rising swarm of butterflies in mid-air. The shattering contrast between violence and fragility, black and red, heaviness and lightness is deliberately unsettling. The small, dark figure at the bottom left and the butterflies opening out towards the top right create a strong movement that leads the eye upwards. The work invites us to reflect on invisible inner struggles and on how silent they often remain.

The trace of a powerful encounter for everyone who stood in front of this work for a long time at the exhibition.

For the collection of art lovers who appreciate thought-provoking images.
